A big advantage using STOP-D is remote online testing of PTSD. It gives you the ability to test a patient that lives some distance away.
It is also useful in cross checking personal feedback during a face to face meeting.
I have noticed is that the results that I get from the STOP-D PTSD assessment correspond well with other measurements such as Impact of Event and HADS (Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale) used during a one to one session which helps confirm the validity of the results.
STOP-D is a great tool for an initial assessment and diagnosis, as an interim measure of progress and a final measure on completion.
The visual impact on the patient seeing the beginning and end results is quite remarkable and the patient feedback confirms the outcome.
